Londre’s Challenge:

Ainsley & Hannah dreamt up Londre while working a photo shoot in Sayulita, Mexico. They make minimalist, swimwear designs that are timeless, versatile and produced with low impact to the environment. However, they were relying on organic sales (SEO, social posts and word of mouth) to increase sales. This resulted in slower growth than expected. They tried their hand at digital sales themselves. And quickly realized they were doing things outside of their business wheelhouse. They lacked a strategy while stumbling using Facebook & Google ads.

Londre’s Evolution:

Brooke and Zoe met while working at Kit and Ace but quickly decided being a cog in the corporate machine wasn’t for them. After partnering with Jenny, their other business partner, they started by making bridesmaid dresses “that you don’t just want to burn or throw away after.” It all stemmed from a desire to produce more sustainable dresses, something that remains at the heart of their business. The Fabric Snob’s Challenge:

The idea to start The Fabric Snob came to Lindsey after developing a love for sewing and a passion for great fabric. What started off as simply sourcing out fabrics for herself and a few friends has slowly grown into a team 10+ that serves tens of thousands of customers across North America. However, they were relying on organic sales (SEO, Facebook Groups and word of mouth) to increase sales. Lindsey wanted some serious growth and the growth from their current strategies just wasn’t cutting it. She tried running ads herself but, with 3 kids and a farm full of animals she found she didn’t have the time, or desire, to effectively run digital ads.

The Fabric Snob’s Evolution:

After seeking out a marketing partner online, Lindsey connected with Derek & the Horizons Digital team. Beauty From Bee’s Challenge:

As a mother of 4, Michelle was appalled after realizing how many toxic ingredients were in the bath and beauty products she was using on herself and her babies. After experimenting and creating new products for her and her family to use, Michelle’s friends and neighbours in the community started asking for the products – and Beauty From Bees was born. However, she was relying largely on local word of mouth and large wholesale orders to increase sales. This led to slower growth than Michelle wanted. After hearing about some success other businesses were having with paid ads, Michelle was excited… but had no idea where to start.
